In an effort to make your English 9 class as accessible as possible, we will attempt to use this space, our space, as our discussion and project center. I hope that by constructing a wikispace for our class, you will participate from school or home and you will feel free to contact me with any questions or problems you may experience. If you would like to contact me personally, please use my school email, paula.vukonich@k12.sd.us. Welcome to what I hope will be a very interesting and educational school year.
LORD OF THE FLIES written by WILLIAM GOLDING.
For the purposes of this unit, the class will be divided by characters. Each group will work through the activities but only one person (rotating) in the group will enter the information on the character's wiki page. Make sure you title each entry. Below is the projected syllabus.
Groups will lose or gain points depending on how well they stay focused on the tasks given, work together, and act respectfully and responsibly. Points will be deducted for repeated reminders, insubordination and non-compliance. Points will be earned for voluntary reading, good behavior and sportsmanship. Like the boys on Golding's island, YOU ARE EACH RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GRADE EARNED BY YOUR TEAM.
